HJA bring to you another massive spec RX-7, originally prepared by legendary Rotary tuners Famspeed in Japan and then handed over to Rotortorque in U.K to further hike up the power.

Fam speed went to town building this RX-7 with an array of all top branded aftermarket parts thrown at it. It was a comprehensive build with all aspects thought out, not only power, but Aero, heat management, suspension and handling amongst many other things were carefully crafted into the spec.

When the car originally arrived from Japan, exterior and interior were pretty much identical as you see it. As we were going to use this as a demo car we commissioned Vicsell Autobody to do a full repaint in Spirit R titanium grey metallic, we are all very fond of this Colour here at HJA as it suits the RX7 down to a key.

Mechanically it was slightly different, it had a side port engine, HKS T04S, it drove very well and was a well-balanced car but was lacking a bit of straight-line power for us. That was soon rectified after we sent the car down to Stu & Jaydee at Rotortorque.
They immediately fell in love with the car and after many long conversations convinced us to go for one of their custom Half bridges and a larger turbo setup that will cope with 650hp+

The outcome is one savage machine.. the idle of this thing would scare most let alone at full chat. On its first ever trip to the dyno and on the run in map it made 500hp at only 0.78 bar and it now currently runs circa 1.4/1.5 bar on high boost, so as you can appreciate it’s one seriously quick car.

Interior has plenty of gadgets to keep even the more tech-obsessed otaku out there happy, like the array of HKS gauges, Apexi hand commander, HKS boost controller and circuit meter. The interior has been stripped but also tidily fitted with ally kick panels and heat wrapping to give the interior a real race car feel.

We cannot reiterate how difficult it is to find good RX-7s with this spec in Japan these days. With the worldwide demand for these Japanese Icons the prices are continuously on the increase. We have been monitoring the market very closely over the past few years and we can assure you there is no sign of prices coming back down. Most Japanese owners whether private/Dealers or tuning shops are simply holding onto their stock as they have become appreciating classics.
